AspireOS vs Nookal: per-seat pricing, compared like for like

Nookal Essentials is A$49 a seat ex GST, falling with team size, SMS and claims extra; AspireOS is A$45 + GST with SMS included. Sourced, dated.

Nookal is an Australian practice system with three plans and a per-seat price that falls as a team grows. Here is how it compares with AspireOS, using Nookal's own website, read on 25 October 2026.

The price

Nookal Essentials is A$49 per practitioner a month before GST for the first two seats, then A$35, A$30 and A$25 a seat as the team grows, up to 12 practitioners. Professional starts at A$59. Enterprise is quoted. SMS is from 7c a message, Medicare claims from 10c a claim, and the patient portal from A$10 a location a month (Nookal pricing).

AspireOS is A$45 + GST per practitioner a month (A$49.50 including GST), or A$40 + GST a month billed yearly, with admin roles free, two-way SMS included (fair use) and the patient portal part of the core app.

Both are priced before GST, so compare them as published: AspireOS's base price is lower for one or two practitioners (two are A$98 on Nookal and A$90 on AspireOS, before GST). From three practitioners, Nookal's falling per-seat price is lower (three are A$133 on Nookal and A$135 on AspireOS; five are A$198 and A$225, all before GST). SMS, claims and the portal are extra on Nookal.

Where Nookal does more today

  • Medicare claiming, from 10c a claim. AspireOS does not lodge claims online yet; Medicare and DVA claiming and HICAPS are waiting on partner approval.
  • Instant online booking. AspireOS's booking page is a request the practice confirms.
  • Lower prices per seat for bigger teams.

Where AspireOS does more

  • Texting and the patient portal are in the price. Nookal charges per SMS, keeps two-way SMS for Professional, and prices its portal per location.
  • Mobile and home-visit teams: travel from real road times, free slots ranked by the extra drive, and travel billed by funder.
  • The team in the same app: credentials with renewal reminders, rostering, leave and timesheets.
