Our aim

We want everyone to be able to use AspireOS: practice teams on the website and in the app, and patients on the booking page, forms, payment page and patient portal. We build to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, and we keep testing and improving as the product grows.

What we do

  • Keyboard navigation — buttons, links, menus and form fields can be reached and used with a keyboard. When a dialog opens, focus moves into it and stays there; Escape closes it and focus returns to where you were.
  • Visible focus — the control you are on is outlined, so you can always see where you are on the page.
  • Labels — form fields carry labels, buttons that show only an icon have a name a screen reader reads out, and every page declares its language as English (Australia).
  • Reduced motion — if your device is set to reduce motion, animations and transitions are switched off.
  • Colour contrast — our core text and background colours are checked against the WCAG contrast ratios in our automated tests, in light and dark mode.

Report a problem

If something is hard to use, or does not work with the assistive technology you use, please tell us at admin@aspireos.io. It helps to include the page address, what you were trying to do and the device, browser or assistive technology you were using. We reply within 5 business days.

If you are a patient of a practice that uses AspireOS, you can also contact your practice directly, and they can pass it on to us.
